Meet Shea Aichele! Shea is a Marketing Intern at T1V who assists the Marketing Team in content creation like blogs, social media, and videos. Shea is currently a sophomore majoring in Business Administration at NC State University.
Tell us about your role as an intern at T1V.
My role at T1V is to help out the Marketing Team however they need it! Whether that means helping to collect data and information for T1V projects, or assisting with social media and blog posts, I love to see what is in store for me when the week starts - there is never a dull moment.
What are some of your daily tasks?
Before the day gets busy, I check in with the Marketing Team to see if they need any time sensitive tasks to be complete. Then I’ll get to work on my daily projects. One of my usual tasks is to write the internal Weekly Newsletter, where I share the many amazing achievements of T1V and fun facts about employees! I also had the chance to sit in on plenty of meetings giving me the chance to learn a lot about the inside workings of a professional business setting.
What were your top favorite projects you worked on during your internship?
My favorite project was definitely creating example Canvases for ThinkHub use cases! The Sales Team utilizes these Canvases to demo our flagship collaboration product to prospects and current customers for training. This project gave me the ability to express creativity while working 1-on-1 with shared content on the ThinkHub Canvas.
How do you balance taking your college courses and working as an intern?
Time management is vital to balancing my schoolwork and being an intern. I believe time management is a key strategy for anyone to be successful. Before the week starts, I like to take time to look at how heavy my school workload is - and then what projects I am working on at T1V, and plan my schedule accordingly.
How has hybrid work / distance teaching and learning affected your school and internship experience?
I lived on campus for one semester before being sent home due to the global pandemic. Hybrid learning has definitely been a struggle that I had to overcome and I know many students feel the same way. It can sometimes be difficult to find the motivation to study for an exam or go to class from the comfort of your own room....
When it comes to my internship at T1V, I feel as though I had the best experience possible given the circumstances. I was able to come into the office and get to know so many people, and I had the ability to familiarize myself and work with the products. Of course, there were a few setbacks due to the pandemic, such as not meeting every employee and not having big, in-person company events. But I got to see everyone over Zoom!
Where can we find you when you’re not busy working or learning?
I’m a homebody so you can definitely find me relaxing at home, listening to music or whatever hobby I like to try for the week. I loved going on road trips with friends pre-COVID, especially to the beach! I’m excited to get back on NC State’s campus and get more involved - but for now I’m just enjoying every day as it comes. Gotta live in the moment!
What was a takeaway from your time at T1V about visual collaboration and the industry?
Visual collaboration - especially hybrid visual collaboration - has taken the world by storm in this past year. Through my internship at T1V, I have learned so much about the industry and the importance of visual collaboration.
Visual collaboration helps people stay informed and connected across the world - especially in these unprecedented times of hybrid learning and working from home! I personally cannot wait to see the continued development of T1V’s products in the future!
What did you like most about working at T1V?
The people! I’ve never had experience in a professional business environment, and this was the best first internship anyone could ask for. It felt like I was a part of a giant family that worked efficiently together and had fun! I’m very thankful for being a part of T1V. The memories I made working with everyone will be cherished forever.
