In last week’s webinar covering the COVID-19 Impact on UCC with Dr. David B. Agus and UCC Industry Expert Panel, T1V CEO Mike Feldman postured important questions affecting business during the pandemic:
- How will travel restrictions impact the way global teams connect and collaborate? How will travel restrictions impact team collaboration in the Enterprise?
Dr. David B. Agus, one of the world’s leading physicians, CEO of the Ellison Institute of USC, a contributor to CBS news, and a T1V ThinkHub user, mulled over these questions and explained his take.
Over the course of the next year, travel will remain extremely limited. Due to the pandemic, both national and international travel is prohibited in certain capacities depending on different states and countries. Mandated travel rules are in a constant state of flux, whether they’re governmentally mandated or are travel procedures determined by your company policies.
Now, the whole travel system is being re-examined.
In order to protect themselves from COVID-19, before travel, people are asking, is this travel really necessary? Can this business meeting be conducted remotely?
According to a recent poll conducted during the rAVe Agency’s LAVNCH week - pre-pandemic, the majority of AV industry employees were traveling at least 1-2 times per month. More responses showed that additionally, before COVID-19, 14.4% of AV industry travelers took 3-5 trips per month, and a total of 13.1% of people went on 6+ business trips per month.
There is no getting around that certain tasks need to be completed in-person, especially as companies adjust to virtual solutions and determine best practice for their organizations. The question is, what will these stats look like post- COVID-19? How many fewer trips will be taken with these anticipated travel restrictions, and how will companies adapt?
This fluid formula of “no one size fits all” for business travel results in the hybrid collaboration model - where some employees will be working from home, and others traveling to and from office sites.
The most important factor in the hybrid or blended collaboration model is equalizing the meeting experience for all attendees - whether they are participating remotely or in-person. Nothing is more frustrating than not being able to communicate effectively with your disparate team.
Multi-site, multi-room collaboration software is the key in connecting teams so that workflows can continue to operate smoothly, despite adjustments made under these new work environments.
With ThinkHub collaboration software, meeting participants can wirelessly connect mobile devices like laptops, mobile phones and more - to an interactive Canvas through the T1V App AirConnect. Both in-room and remote meeting participants can share content and files, like images, PDFs, and videos within the ThinkHub session.
ThinkHub MuliSite takes basic ThinkHub a step further, and offers real-time-room-room collaboration for up to 10 locations at a time. Annotate and communicate together, no matter where you’re located (if you’re WFH, in your executive home office, or in an office meeting space).
T1V’s HubVC also promotes total interoperability whether you’re joining a meeting in-room or virtually. HubVC is a simple collaboration board that supports the meat of a meeting: wireless screen sharing, whiteboard, and video conferencing.
Both ThinkHub and HubVC allow meeting attendees to leverage video conferencing during their collaborative meetings. One of the benefits of the software is that you do not have to choose between video conferencing platforms like Zoom, Webex, and MS Teams, but rather - you can support all three.
All video conferencing platforms are integrated into the solutions - so for example, you can participate in a Zoom Meeting with a client at 9:00am, and then hop on an internal project Webex call an hour later for your next meeting.
T1V’s collaborative software solutions can solve the problem of hybrid team miscommunication and in turn, connect teams to enhance workflows beyond just simple video conferencing.
