Last week, T1V hosted a webinar focused on the impact of the world’s current crisis, COVID-19.
As rAVe Pubs reported, T1V “enlisted one of the world’s leading physicians to answer some of our burning questions."
Dr. David B. Agus, CEO of the Ellison Institute of USC and a contributor to CBS news, was featured during the webinar discussion along with a panel of UCC experts, Mike Feldman - T1V CEO, Dana Corey - Avocor GM and SVP, and Geno Zaharie - Logitech Director of Alliances and GTM.
But like anything larger than life, COVID-19 comes with the good, the bad, and the unknown.
Here are just a few of the key takeaways from the questions T1V CEO, Mike Feldman, asked on our COVID-19 impact webinar.
What will be the impact of the pandemic in the next 6 - 12 months?
The panel confirmed, “There’s no one size fits all.”
Why was this the panel’s consensus? Every city and country in the world is at various stages combating and adjusting to a lifestyle with COVID-19. Offices are enforcing social distancing by increasing work spaces and only allowing a certain capacity back in the office. Universities are sending their professors and students home to teach and learn remotely.
2D vs. 3D Interaction
“The human brain wasn’t wired for Zoom.”
Dr. Agus explained to us that video conferencing is a 2D experience. Communication through a camera with no other interaction can cause fatigue that decreases productivity and creativity that you would normally thrive on in an office environment. The power that T1V’s collaboration software brings to the table, whether from a remote location or in-room, is a very physical interaction - a 3D interaction. Our ThinkHub and HubVC collaboration software provide just that.
When will trade shows make a return?
Dr. Agus believes that no trade shows will happen this year. And we’re not surprised. Organizations are adapting to create virtual experiences, like THE rAVe Agency’s LAVNCH WEEK - the AV industry’s first all-digital launch event, that occurred earlier this Spring.
And what about classes resuming on campus at universities?
Each university is assessing the COVID-19 situation in a way that best fits their organization and that can keep their students, faculty and staff as safe as possible. There is no ‘right answer’ for when classes should resume on the physical campus as we continue to gather information and look into different future classroom scenarios...
How do you see classrooms adopting post COVID-19?
Distance learning is happening and will continue to happen no matter what. As educators, we’ll need to create a more rich, engaging and immersive environment. It’s time for the classroom to be reinvented. T1V’s ThinkHub Connect active learning software shifts the way instructors teach and the students learn by making it an interactive, collaborative process. T1V’s goal is to make it as close to reality as possible.
How will travel restrictions impact the way global teams connect and collaborate?
Is travel especially necessary to productively work? Interactive solutions are going beyond video and are generating creative outcomes and engagement.
How do you see the workplace adapting a year from now?
An interesting outcome from this pandemic and behavior change is that businesses are taking a closer look at measuring productivity. Was the meeting productive? What can we change? How much work was completed? This collection of data will be paramount in developing new ways to do business.
These questions and more were answered during the COVID-19 Impact webinar.
While there is still uncertainty for the future, we can remain optimistic about our post pandemic world and the future of collaboration.
