The T1V Customer Spotlight Series features T1V Customers and how they are using technology to drive their organizations forward. Did you catch the latest Customer Spotlight webinar?
Senior AV Manager / IT Team, Ken Okajima, of the Ellison Institute of Transformative Medicine of USC first told us all the innovative ways T1V ThinkHub MultiSite collaboration software is being used on a daily basis by himself and the team of scientists, doctors, and executives at the Ellison Institute.
But what are some of the more creative ways ThinkHub is being used within the organization?
Okajima shares a unique and creative way the Ellison Institute displays customized presentations that exhibit research “poster boards,” which hold technical summaries of their latest findings. An EI ‘home button’ — that can be accessed from any ThinkHub throughout the building — is a single tap shortcut to open these presentations while touring the building with a potential donor, showing cancer research to a new patient, or just a curious guest walking through. Most importantly, the presentations help visually explain how much of an impact the research will have on the individual and/or their loved ones.
A ThinkHub is also connected to a 16ft LED wall in the Ellison Institute’s main Leonardo Auditorium to project and interact with content during educational presentations and lectures. ThinkHub allows the presenter to annotate on documents and shift focus to different pieces of content that are strategically placed on the Canvas — adding an element of preparedness and accessibility.
Another exciting and creative way ThinkHub is used at the Ellison Institute is a view into research labs where scientists are actively working on cancer treatments. The templated Canvases that are prepopulated with customized presentations and posters are also decked with IP camera feeds allowing a behind the scenes look into active labs.
The Ellison Institute’s goal above all else is to create hope for current patients and future generations. As patients walk the halls between treatments, they encounter tangible events that are unfolding in the present time. Whether that is a sneak peak into a research lab, visual evidence of cancer treatment progress, or digital profiles of teams to help personify the science, the dedicated team at the Ellison Institute strives to turn cancer into a treatable and survivable disease.
