Brainswarming is an emerging team technique for problem solving across the enterprise.
With hybrid collaboration on the rise, brainswarming is the next big thing for streamlining workflows, generating ideas, and refining processes for teams that need to solve problems - especially if they are working in different locations.
But what is brainswarming? What types of collaboration tools do you need to brainstorm?
Watch T1V Marketing Manager Kate Ference answer these questions and more in the latest T1V in 3 video.
We’ve talked before about the difference between brainstorming and brainswarming…
Brainswarming is different from brainstorming in a big way. When a team brainstorms, it’s often in one big meeting room, where participants raise their hands, share ideas, and verbally throw out solutions to collaborate.
A team brainswarm, on the other hand, is all visual instead of verbal - which makes brainswarming ideal for hybrid teams. Plus, there’s no fighting to get your voice heard - instead, introverts can share information visually for more equal team collaboration.
What’s more, when brainswarming with collaboration tools like T1V ThinkHub, you can participate equally whether you’re in-room on a display or joining remotely via the T1V app.
To create a brainswarming map with ThinkHub, use the Groups feature to add the four key brainswarming Groups to the interactive Canvas.
- Goal
- Subgoals
- Solutions
- Resources
Then, use Notes to send brainswarming suggestions to each of the Groups on the ThinkHub Canvas. Have all of your brainswarming ideas together in one place, in real-time.
Whether you’re joining the brainswarming session in-room or remotely, brainswarming participants can send a Note to the Canvas - and doing so will automatically change that Note’s text color and background color to match that Group’s theme.
Use baked in video conferencing integration to speak with hybrid team members face-to-face on the ThinkHub Canvas while you brainswarm. Choose from BlueJeans, Webex, MS Teams, and Zoom integrations.
Don’t forget to use the annotation tools within ThinkHub to draw and map out your brainswarm on the Canvas.
Finally, make sure to save your brainswarming Canvas - whether that’s to the ThinkHub device, the .t1vx file on your laptop or file storage drive, or simply save a PDF of the Canvas for a snapshot reminder of your session. All of these options allow you to pick up right where you left off at your next team brainswarm.
