Project Overview

Under the leadership of David B. Agus, MD, the Ellison Institute tackles difficult questions in healthcare and medical research to push the boundaries of medicine. We offer multifaceted programs, including a cancer clinic, cross-disciplinary research laboratories, a health policy think-tank, and community outreach and educational programs at our institute. This one-of-a-kind institute serves as a powerful catalyst for innovation and reimagining the status quo in medical research and cancer treatments.

The Ellison Institute strives to spark innovation, leverage technology, and drive interdisciplinary, patient-centered research to continually reimagine and redefine cancer care, enhance health, and transform lives.

By reimagining the ways cancer is diagnosed, prevented, studied, and treated, we will create a bold new model for cancer treatment and care.

When we were designing the institute, a major goal was collaboration throughout the building, inside our labs, and with patients and visitors. When it comes to solving the problems that we wanted to tackle in this building, ThinkHub has been incredibly impactful in solving those problems and really made a difference in allowing us to collaborate. As I think towards the future and expanding the institute, ThinkHub really has allowed us — and continues to allow us — to collaborate on a level that we couldn’t before. The Solution

The Ellison Institute draws collaborators from across conventional health and wellness fields, as well as from a broad range of other disciplines such as physics, biology, math, and engineering to study interdisciplinary research with the prevention and treatment of cancer. Some of the greatest minds in medicine collaborate together using 25 ThinkHub systems across all five interactive floors.

ThinkHub was not the first solution that we saw, but it was head and shoulders the best solution that we saw. It didn’t require additional gadgets that one had to hold, it could be deployed in any situation, it didn’t require that the room be specialized towards this conversation, and it had all the feature sets that we really wanted… there was no pain in the user interface when we worked with the ThinkHub... which just sold it for us.

The ThinkHub system has allowed us to work better remotely because we have people that are in the cloud, and people that are here in the building with the physical T1V. It has allowed us to communicate with each other regardless of whether you are in the office or not. When we’re working on really complicated projects that have a lot of moving pieces, to be able to put all your thoughts on the screen… that’s what’s been really beneficial.
