Project Overview

Pace University sought an alternative to the conventional lecture approach within their classrooms — with the goal to provide better experiential learning opportunities to their students. What they required was a comprehensive solution that not only catered to the need for HyFlex learning environments, but also enticed remote learners to rejoin the physical classroom post-pandemic.

Pace University incorporated ThinkHub Education active learning software at two of their New York campuses, successfully addressing the requirements of their on-site and remote students within the HyFlex framework. This solution fosters active, hands-on learning across campuses and disciplines, and encourages peer-to-peer collaboration — ensuring that students remain deeply engaged and enthusiastic about their educational journey at Pace.

ThinkHub allows us to seamlessly integrate applications and further the students' understanding and interest in the subject matter — and the students really, thoroughly enjoy it.

We practice experiential learning, we don't just talk about it — and our partnership with T1V has been crucial in learning by doing… We want to take our students [into this classroom] because we teach experiential, active learning every week in our class. Literally, we have a lab every week, and I'm looking at this room and I picture our students sitting there doing line diagrams, working on a project, Gantt charts, work breakdown structures.

The Solution

Pace University leverages the ThinkHub Education solution to create a HyFlex, experiential learning environment across its two campuses, seamlessly connecting on-site and remote students. At Student Stations, learners collaborate in real time using wireless devices, fostering peer-to-peer engagement through dynamic content sharing, data visualization, and hybrid connectivity. Instructors maintain full visibility and control, effortlessly viewing and managing Student Station Canvases from the Instructor Station. With a single touch, they can push group work to all Student Stations and connected devices via the T1V app. ThinkHub Education also integrates with a wide range of web-based applications, accommodating diverse curriculum needs.

Pace University in New York City has more than 50 cutting-edge centers, institutes, labs, and clinics that serve as training grounds for future leaders. Pace's mission is to be recognized as the premier student-outcomes centered institutions in the New York metropolitan region — ThinkHub is now a major component in realizing this goal.

Our traditional lecture model of education is going away — it needs to go away. You don't want to look in the back of someone’s head for two hours as they lecture. We would much rather students participate in the lessons that are being taught.
