The first ever all-digital launch event in the AV industry, LAVNCH WEEK, was a huge success - thanks to THE rAVe Agency and all its virtual participants.
rAVE is “the #1 information source for the AV industry,” and LAVNCH WEEK served as an interactive and informative platform for industry thought leaders to connect and reflect on the innovation driving the AV industry in 2020.
While many industry events are being rescheduled or cancelled, LAVNCH WEEK was a special opportunity to come together during COVID-19 and navigate the ways that the pandemic is driving technological transformation forward faster than ever before - as solutions, organizations, and users adapt to new digital needs and trends.
LAVNCH WEEK hosted days for different industry niches, including:
- ProAV Day
- Digital Signage Day
- UCC Day
- House of Worship Day
- End User Day
T1V was featured on UCC (Unified Communication and Collaboration) Day, which showcased a Keynote from Zoom, a Tech Talk, “Comparing All UCC Options,” and finished with a UCC Panel on “What’s Next for UCC Integrators and Power Users?”
Jim Morris, chief technology officer of T1V, sat on the panel along with other tech experts in the UCC space. Moderated by Jane Hammsersley, director of global alliances and collaboration at Maverick AV Solutions, the panel responded to two important questions.
The first question was, “What skill(s) should we spend time learning during the period at home?
T1V’s Jim Morris had a good point - that post COVID-19, a common solution may be for companies to operate under a hybrid model, where some employees work from the office or headquarters, and many employees also continue to work from home simultaneously. The industry needs to focus on solutions that support this new reality.
Visual collaboration software - with screen sharing, content sharing, whiteboarding and annotation capabilities - is key to workflows under this hybrid model so that effective communication is the focus and remote employees have an equal opportunity to contribute to meetings just as in-room participants would.
Here, it is significant to note that video conferencing platforms have limitations for visual collaboration. For example - current video conferencing solutions on the market all limit screen sharing to a single device at a time.
The panel’s second prompt was, “What would we tell organizations to stop doing in this new world of work?
Jim urged the industry, “Don’t sacrifice user experience (UX) - it’s key to driving adoption … Lots of companies will be running around trying to outfit offices with more video equipment, and some workforce isn’t going to be there most of the time, and they’re going to come back and wonder why they haven’t had training on it. It must be super intuitive for the end user.”
Overall, LAVNCH WEEK’s UCC Day and the UCC Day Panel solidified the theme that now, more than ever, people are depending on technology solutions to unite teams through communication and collaboration.
