Mike Feldman spent the summers of his youth washing the floors of a Kmart, driving an ice cream truck, managing a convenience store and peeling the decals off trailer trucks. He infused his entrepreneurial spirit into all his jobs....
The process to peel decals off trucks was too time-consuming. Especially for $50 a pop. It involved a blowtorch to heat up the decal and a chemical treatment to remove the adhesive.
One day Feldman and his co-workers accidentally started a fire while fixing a broken blowtorch. Pouring water mixed with the cleaning solution onto the fire made matters worse.
Feldman and his friends figured there had to be a better way. The decided the sun could do much of the blowtorch work for them if they came at a certain time of day. So they lined up all the trailers and finished 10 trucks in one day.
“We went and said, ‘We need $500.’ And the guy was like ‘How did you do that?! I don’t have that kind of money,’” Feldman recalls...
