The Charlotte Business Journal's TechFlash Staff Writer, Hilary Burns, took the time to talk with our CEO, Mike Feldman, on why he thinks large-format touchscreens are taking over.
“I think large-format touchscreens are going to become more ubiquitous than they are now,” Feldman said. “If you look at universities for example, what’s the whole purpose of teaching? You can learn a lot of stuff so easily from your home and online. The whole reason to teach is to learn how to work in groups. The way you do that is to use tools like this [ThinkHub]. Then if you go into corporations, it’s the same thing.”
When asked how T1V started, Feldman replied:
The iPhone had just come out, and we saw this proliferation of mobile devices designed for individuals — people looking at their personalized screens. We said, "Things are changing so much. What happened to the personal interaction of looking at things together?"
There was nothing designed for group use. At the time, no other companies were going after that market. So we felt like there was a need in the marketplace. (A product) designed for group use where you can share from mobile devices. We said, "We need a large-format touch screen and software that really works for that. And something that is collaborative..."
